Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data GetBetter collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information. GetBetter is an AI-assisted Rocket League replay analysis service available at getbetter.live.
1. Information We Collect
Account details: your email address, a username, and optionally your first and last name. Game details: your in-game player name. Sign-in details: if you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive an account identifier and, where available, your email address — specifically an Epic account ID and email (via the basic_profile scope) from Epic Games, a Steam ID and public persona name from Steam (retrieved only for you, at your request), and an account ID and email from Google or Discord. We use sign-in data only to authenticate you. Content you upload: replay files, which contain gameplay data and the in-game names of players in the match, including opponents. We use other players' in-game names only to describe match context, and we do not build profiles of, or contact, non-users. Technical data: your IP address (recorded at sign-up, sign-in, and when you contact us, to prevent abuse and secure the Service) and basic usage data needed to operate and improve the Service. If you play the Daily Quiz, we store keyed, non-reversible digests of your IP address and of a coarse device signal (browser, screen, language, and time zone) to stop the same answers being replayed into several leaderboard runs. If you play while signed in, your username and quiz points appear on the public Daily Quiz leaderboard. You may also optionally tell us how you heard about us.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to create and secure your account, sign you in, process and analyze your replays, generate coaching insights, respond to your messages, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the Service.
3. Legal Bases
Where the GDPR applies, we process your data to perform our contract with you, on the basis of your consent (which you may withdraw at any time), for our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Service, and to comply with our legal obligations.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not sell or transfer data received from third-party sign-in providers (such as Epic Games) for consideration. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under appropriate safeguards: a cloud infrastructure provider that hosts the Service, stores your uploaded files, and runs our database on servers located in the European Union; a generative-AI provider, to which we send derived gameplay measurements and the analyzed player's name — not your raw replay files — to generate coaching insights; an email provider used to send sign-in codes and notifications; and a product analytics provider (PostHog, with data hosted in the European Union), which receives usage events such as pages viewed, the website that referred you, and actions like uploading a replay or opening a report. These events are collected without analytics cookies or identifiers stored on your device. Captured click text and element attributes can include account usernames and in-game player names displayed on the page, so usage events may be associated with an account. We do not use session replay. Secret support-thread access tokens are removed from analytics events. We may change these providers as the Service evolves and will keep this policy current.
5. Data Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service and meet our legal and security obligations. When you request deletion, we remove your account and associated data, including uploaded replays, except where we are required to retain certain records by law. For third-party sign-in, we delete the data we received from the provider when you request deletion; for Epic Games specifically, we also delete your Epic account data if Epic notifies us that you have asked Epic to delete your data.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, or to request deletion of your account, contact us through our Contact page.
7. Cookies and Local Storage
We use only strictly necessary cookies and browser local storage: a secure, http-only cookie to keep you signed in, a short-lived cookie to protect the sign-in process during third-party log-in, and local storage to remember preferences such as your language and to keep your Daily Quiz progress on this device. We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics: our product analytics (see section 4) stores nothing on your device.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and hashing of sensitive credentials such as one-time sign-in codes. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however.
9. International Transfers
Your data is primarily processed within the European Union. Some processing (for example, generative-AI analysis) may take place outside your country; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to children below the age of consent in their country, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will communicate material changes through the Service and update the date above.
12. Contact
For privacy questions or data requests, reach us through our Contact page.
Invitation attribution
We store the first valid invitation in first-party browser storage for up to 30 days to apply it at signup. Successful account resolution clears it. Accepted invitation terms, minimal completion evidence, reward history and review decisions are retained for accounting. Inviters see aggregate progress and their own rewards, without recipients’ identities or replay content. Attribution does not follow you across devices unless you reopen the link.
